This contemporary depiction reimagines iconography through a vibrant, modern lens. Utilizing a striking palette of blues and aquas, the face was constructed using bold, geometric lines that mimic the intricate designs of traditional stained glass. The painting invokes a feeling of meditative calm.

Experimenting with styles and mediums became an intentional challenge while working on this series. Some of the pieces were a joint effort. We began with photographs that we took in museums and gardens. Some were manipulated on the computer, others transformed as we worked on the paintings. We completed some beautiful pieces for the series both together and separately. The work was shown as a collaborative effort around the San Francisco Bay Area.
